Animals
Dogs, cats and other animal pets are not permitted in the Events Center. They may be walked outside but must be on a leash, as appropriate,
and can never be left unattended. This policy does not apply to the use of companion animals for
those with documented disabilities, other prearrangements, or documented purposes.
Along with state code that bans animals from dining facilities, there are health, sanitation
and personal safety issues which promote the formation of this policy.
Banners, Flags and Posters
For safety purposes signs or flags attached to poles, dowels, or sticks are not permitted in the Events Center. Oversized banners, placards, flags and posters can obstruct the view of guests and are therefore not permitted in the Events Center
Cameras
and Recording Equipment
The Events Center policy on cameras and recording equipment
varies by event. In almost all cases, flash photography is prohibited
at events; Events Center management
reserves the right to examine and prohibit the use of any camera
or recording
equipment it deems unacceptable.
Carry in and Contraband Items
The following items are not permitted in the Events Center:
- Bottles
and cans
- Food and drink
not purchased inside the facility

device such as whistles, air horns, or sirens
- Fireworks
- Weapons and
dangerous devices such as knives

and alcohol
Guests

to removal or ejection from the facility and the contraband
items confiscated.
Disorderly Conduct
Events Center guests must abide by policies set forth by Binghamton University as well as local, state, and federal laws. Failure to do so may result in removal or ejection from the facility.
Many sporting events held at the Events Center are attended by audiences diverse in background and age. To ensure a welcoming and age-appropriate setting, Binghamton University expects spectators to model appropriate, sportsmanlike behavior. Spectators are reminded that disrespectful heckling, derogatory taunts, yell, and chants, and offensive language or gestures have no place at the Events Center.
Ejections
Guests causing a problem should be reported to a supervisor immediately.
Events Center Staff and University Police are responsible for ejecting
disorderly patrons from the facility after required paperwork has
been completed at the security office. Ejected patrons are not
allowed back to the event. Attempts at re-entry could result in
arrest. Ejected patrons must leave Events Center property or be
subject to arrest on trespassing charges.

Firearms
and Weapons
Weapons are not allowed in the Binghamton University Events
Center.
Exceptions to this policy include local, state, and federal law enforcement officials.
Law enforcement officials who are present in a non-working function and are armed
should be brought to the attention of the Events Center Director, Event Coordinator,
and University Police. The individuals must have their identity
verified. Concealed weapons permits are not valid in the Events Center. Anyone
with
a
weapon will be reported to University Police.
Food and Beverage
Food and beverages may be purchased inside the Events Center only
at concession stands, carts, and vending machines. Patrons may not
bring food and beverages into
the Events Center
that were purchased outside of the facility. If a patron attempts
to bring these items into the facility, they will be offered
the following options:
- Items may be consumed outside (except alcohol) before entering the
facility
- Items may be returned to owner's vehicle
- Items may be thrown away in the nearest trash receptacle
Intoxicated Guests
Intoxicated patrons are not to be admitted into the facility
at any time. If an intoxicated person is obeserved entering the facility,
it should be reported to University Police. Intoxicated patrons are to be ejected
from the event. (See ejections or disorderly conduct).
Lost and Found
Any items found before, during, and after an event should
be brought to the attention of a supervisor. If unclaimed within two hours after the closure of an event, found wallets, purses, mobile phones, cameras, and other items of value will be transferred to University Police, Couper Administration Building on the ground floor. Other item(s) will be turned in to Events Center management and kept
for 30 days. When 30 days have passed the items will be
donated to charity or disposed of at the discretion of management.
Lost Children or Guests
Anyone finding a lost child or person should stay with
the child at the same location for a short period
to wait for
a parent or guardian to return. The Events Center Director,
Event Coordinator, staff supervisor, or Univeristy Police should
be notified as soon as possible. An announcement may
be
made over the loudspeaker
indicating that a child has been lost and the parents should
report to the appropriate location.
A brief description of the child will be circulated through
management,
or
event staff. If the
child or person is not picked up within 60
minutes of the event’s
conclusion, University Police will be notified by the Events
Center Director, Director of Security, or Event Coordinator.
Noisemakers
Noisemakers of any kind are not allowed into the Events Center.
NCAA regulations do not allow patrons to have noisemakers
at athletic
contests.
Smoking
New York State
law prohibits smoking inside the Events Center. This policy will
be enforced. Anyone observed smoking inside the facility would
be asked to extinguish the
item
immediately. Any person who refuses to comply with the policy
will be subject to a citation and/or ejection from the facility.
