Sporting Events

The Binghamton University Events Center is proud to be the home of Binghamton University Men’s and Women’s Bearcats Basketball. On top of hosting BU basketball, the Events Center is a multi-purpose facility equipped with a 200-meter competition track, four tennis courts, brand new strength and conditioning rooms, and a curtain system that allows for multiple sporting events to take place simultaneously. The Events Center was designed to support a wide range of sporting events while providing guests with outstanding sight lines, comfortable seating, and a great atmosphere in order to ensure a positive experience at every event.

  • About the Track: The BU track is a 200-meter competition track manufactured by Mondo, the official supplier of track and field surfaces for Athens 2004. Mondo is providing four tracks in Athens including the premier competition track at Olympic Stadium. Supply and installation of the nearly 60,000 square feet of rubber athletic flooring required for the Events Center was handled by SportBuilders, Inc. of Liverpool, NY. SportsBuilders is the distributor and certified installer of Mondo flooring in New York State. In addition to the track, the balance of the arena flooring in the Events Center is Mondo’s multi-sport rubber surface suitable for soccer, tennis, basketball, and a wide variety of activities. Endura and Johnsonite flooring materials comprise the coverings on the concourse and mezzanine levels.
  • About the Basketball Court: The BU basketball court was made by Robbins, Inc., headquartered in Maryland. BU’s court is a Robbins All-Star Plus, which includes a cushioning system designed to give the floor a “live play” feel. Robbins floors are widely used in the NBA by teams such as Chicago, Cleveland, Houston and Atlanta and at colleges and universities such as Kansas, Boston College, Notre Dame and Texas A&M.
